Modular home for winter — which insulation?

The standard is EPS 50 mm — a seasonal version. When it is enough, when you need thicker insulation, PU/PIR, rock wool or a winter package, and what it means for permanent living.

Standard and options — what you actually get

All MP Modular models — folding container, F700, 38 m² and 74 m² homes — come as standard with walls and roof made of EPS 50 mm sandwich panels. That is a seasonal version: good for spring, summer and autumn, for a garden office, holiday home or pavilion. We say this openly before quoting.

If the home will be used in winter, insulation is chosen in the quote. Paid options:

The home can also be insulated further after installation, though ordering the right insulation up front is simpler and cheaper.

How to read insulation figures

Heat loss is described by the U-value (W/m²K) — the lower, the better. It depends on the material and its thickness. U-values for your configuration are confirmed in the quote; we don't publish catalogue figures because they depend on the panels, roof, floor and windows chosen.

Is a modular home suitable for permanent living?

A home can be adapted for year-round use. We do not claim compliance with Polish WT 2021 requirements for residential buildings — these also cover room height (2235 mm in the 38 m² home, 2200 mm in the 74 m² home). For permanent living, check the specification with a designer before applying for a permit.

Heating and ventilation

A well-insulated home is airtight and needs ventilation. For heating a small home, an air conditioner with heating mode or an air-to-air heat pump is the usual choice. With the seasonal version no heating system gives full comfort in hard frost.
